Sunset Socials: A Midweek Meetup

Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm through August 6. Join in each Wednesday evening this summer for a relaxed all-ages meetup on the front lawn at Good Shepherd! We’ll have popsicles, yard games, and plenty of space to connect, laugh, and enjoy the beauty of a Washington summer together. Whether you’re young or just young at heart, this is a weekly chance to build relationships and share in community fun under the trees. All are welcome!

Family Camp Nites: Evening Activity Camp

Evenings at 5-8 pm, July 8-10. Join in on three fun-filled evenings of crafts, games, service projects, free play, and meaningful connection at Family Camp Nites! Along the way, we’ll share stories and experiences that remind every child (and grown-up!) that they belong, they are beloved, and they are delightful to God. All ages are welcome—and yes, dinner (and s’mores!) is served each night!

Christmas in July Potluck Picnic & Scavenger Hunt

Sunday, July 27 after worship. The theme is “Christmas in July” with holiday dishes and desserts for all. There will also be a scavenger hunt with prizes for both kids and adults! Right after you eat, you can take part in a scavenger hunt. We will stay on the church grounds and be scavenging for natural things such as pine cones, round rocks, etc. (grown ups are encouraged to team up with children and youth). It should be a lot of fun, so come to the picnic, eat wonderful food, then participate in the scavenger hunt with prizes for everyone!

Throwback 90’s Block Party

Wednesday, August 13 at 5:30 pm. Everyone is invited to a Throwback 90’s Block Party for fun-filled outdoor potluck BBQ with classic outdoor games, face painting, a three-legged race, and water balloon toss. We’ll provide the burgers (including vegetarian options) and ask that everyone bring a side dish to share. Invite neighbors and friends to join in for fun, food, and community. Don’t miss it!

Country Fair Pie Festival

Sunday, August 24 at 11:00 am. Everyone is invited to Crary Fellowship Hall after worship for a Country Fair Pie Festival during Hospitality & Fellowship hour where you can sample a number of pies (along with ice cream or whip cream). The CYF Ministry will also be collecting back-to-school supplies to donate to Hope Plaza.

Last Splash!

Sunday, August 31 after worship. Get ready for water-filled fun at our final summer gathering! Bring your swimsuit and stay after worship for sprinklers, reusable water balloon games, water relays, and a water table for younger kids. We’ll wrap things up with cool popsicles and lots of laughter.

Garden Harvest Party

Sunday, September 14 after worship. We welcome the fall season with a Garden Harvest Party where e will harvest vegetables that we planted at the Spring Garden Party (the kids will especially be excited to dig up the potatoes that they planted and help put the garden to bed for the winter). No one is too old or too young to help, so put on your play clothes and join us in the garden area after worship when we will reap our garden produce and ready it to be delivered to the Thurston County Food Bank and its clients.
