2nd Annual Pie Festival
On Sunday, August 30 at 11:00 am. This year’s theme is Happy Birthday USA! Come in to Crary Fellowship Hall (away from the bees and the hot sun) during the coffee and fellowship hour following the worship service and sample a variety of pies from our many bakers at Good Shepherd (plus ice cream and/or whipped cream). Everyone is invited to make and bring your favorite pies to share (see instructions below. We will also have our usual spread of snacks, coffee, tea, water and lemonade. Last year we had so many pies and all different kinds. I’m sure this year’s festival will be just as successful. We will also be having an in-kind offering collection for the 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering Fund to help send our Good Shepherd youth.
Instructions for our pie bakers:
Bring your favorite pie, home made or bought.
Put your name & the name of the pie on a folded label we will have available
Stand behind your pie to help serve it. Bring a pie server & an apron with you from home (we’ll have extra aprons in the kitchen if you don’t have one)
Once a person receives their piece of pie, we will have whipped cream available.
Kids should probably get a small piece of pie or get a cookie instead.
We will have our usual snacks available and coffee, tea, water or lemonade.
The CYF team will also be accepting in-kind offerings for the 2027 ELCA Youth Gathering Fund which will help to send some of Good Shepherds youth to next summer’s gathering.
