South Sound Youth Group Activity Nights

Dinner, Fun, Games, Vampire Tag

The South Sound Youth Group (SSYG) is a monthly collaborative effort of Olympia and nearby ELCA congregations, hosted at Gloria Dei Lutheran and Good Shepherd Lutheran where youth (6th grade and above) can experience an awesome night of food, vampire tag, games, worship, fellowship, and fun. This joint monthly event alternates locations between Good Shepherd Lutheran and Gloria Dei Lutheran in west Olympia! (see schedule below)

What is Vampire, you ask? It's a hybrid of tag/hide-and-seek/scavenger hunt played through the entire church in the dark! The vampire tags the humans before they can find the hidden garlic that can tag the vampire. We learned this game back in November at the inter-church youth night at Gloria Dei, and it has rapidly become a favorite among the youth at Good Shepherd! Some games have been known to last for an hour!

We'll gather one Sunday each month from 5-7:30 pm to eat together, play games, worship, and play Vampire tag in the church (in the dark). All friends are invited to join in the fun! And if you know that your child will be coming, please send a message to Jennie, Good Shepherd’s Interim Coordinator of Youth & Family Ministry at jennie@gsolympia.org. Hope to see you there!
