Standing with Refugees

 
 

At Lutheran Community Services Northwest, we are grateful that you stand with us, in the beautiful moments and these harder moments, too. Right now, we need you to stand with refugees in our community. 

Summer 2022 has been filled with standing, to listen to music at outdoor concerts, to sip drinks with family and friends, or to play corn hole and yard games. What a joy it has been to stand together in one another’s presence after so many months of separation.

Refugees have been standing this summer for very different reasons, waiting in lines for food, for rides to safety, and for border crossings to rebuild their lives and hope for the future.

Over the past 10 months, we have resettled over 1,175 Afghan refugees, with 120 more scheduled for arrival this week. At the same time, we are supporting more than 1,500 Ukrainian refugees with emergency and resettlement needs. 

We need you to continue to stand with us in serving hundreds of humans who are seeking safety in our neighborhoods. There are many ways for you to help:
