Welcoming Whispering Willows Academy & Supporting a Safe Environment

by Lauri Bolton, Church Administrator
We are delighted to share that Whispering Willows Academy daycare will begin operating in our building this month. They are thrilled to be here and excited to welcome children into this warm, nurturing environment we all value so deeply.
As we begin this new relationship, we have an opportunity to support both the daycare community and our own by being thoughtful stewards of our shared space.
During daycare operating hours (6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), a few practices will help ensure a safe and positive environment for everyone:

  • Doors Between Spaces: Doors separating the daycare and church areas will remain closed, with signage posted as a reminder.

  • ID Badges Required: Anyone entering daycare areas during operating hours—including church staff, volunteers, and visitors—will need to wear an ID badge so they are easily identifiable. Congregation members and staff may use their existing name badges; visitor badges are available at the Front Desk.

  • Restroom Use: To support child safety, church staff and visitors are asked to use the restrooms located in the north side of the building (in the hallway between Crary Hall and Room 160, and at the end of the hallway on the second floor of the office wing.) Look for the directional signage in the entry area. Please avoid using the main hallway restrooms in the daycare area during its operating hours.

  • Meeting Spaces: When scheduling meetings during daycare hours, we will aim to use Rooms 160 or 103. If Room 114 is needed, ID badges will be required.

  • South Kitchen Use:  Because the daycare must follow strict food-handling and kitchen-related requirements, use of the South Kitchen will need to be more closely controlled. If you wish to use this space outside of daycare hours, please contact Melinda Peabody, Campus & Office Manager.

  • Increased Awareness: We encourage everyone to be mindful of who is in the building—offering a friendly greeting and helping ensure visitors are in the right place contributes to a safe and welcoming atmosphere.

Thank you for your support, flexibility, and for extending the same warmth you always show to those who share our space.
