Good Shepherd is Radiating Pride!

Good Shepherd is proud to announce a name change for our LGBTQIA+ Ministry Team. We will now be called “Radiant Pride Ministry” (RPM). As we move away from the sometimes confusing LGBTQIA2S+ acronym, the word Radiant reminds us to shine and emit love in our inclusion and uplifting of all marginalized peoples, even those not directly included in the ever-changing and often confusing lengthy acronym. A big thank you goes to Christina Castro for putting forward this suggestion which the team warmly adopted. Our congregation has radiated Pride through the love we show our queer members through our personal interactions as well as being a Reconciling in Christ congregation since 2009, hosting our booth in the annual Capital City Pride fest, our annual Pride Sunday Worship, various forums we’ve hosted in the past years, hosting of Transgender Day of Remembrance, author Nico Lang’s transgender youth book reading and discussion, and participation with PFLAG. With your continued support and allyship, we look forward to including ALL God’s people in ministry and radiating God’s love.
