Good Shepherd Organ FAQs

The organ at The Lutheran Church of The Good Shepherd was built by the Fritts-Richards organ building firm from Tacoma, WA as Opus 3. The instrument has 2 manuals, 16 stops, and 20 ranks. It was dedicated in 1983 in a recital by David Dahl from Pacific Lutheran University. Two stops that were originally planned for were added in 2012. A re-dedication recital was held on April 27, 2013 and featured several local organists.

The wooden carvings on the face of the organ were designed by John-Eric Noran and carved by Peder Dahl, father of organist David Dahl. The carvings on the pipe shades are Gingko tree leaves. The gingko tree is the oldest deciduous tree known to exist.
