Wednesday Evening Gatherings

Community Meals: 5-5:45 pm

All ages are invited to the Good Shepherd Community Meal on Wednesday evenings at 5 pm. We'll gather in Crary Hall and enjoy a simple but satisfying meal together. All meals are made to be vegetarian friendly and nourishing, and there will always be vegan options. A $1 donation is requested per person to sustain the Community Meal program.

Our Deepest Questions: 5:45-7 pm

Every other Wednesday beginning April 10. This group gathering is for both youth and adults and discusses the big questions of faith and life from a Lutheran perspective.

Confirmation Classes: 5:45-7 pm

Starting Jan. 10. Good Shepherd is beginning a Confirmation program intended for youth in 7th grade and above, but open to anyone! Confirmation classes take place on Wednesday Evenings, alternating with Our Deepest Questions, but anyone is invited and encourage to participate so long as they agree to center the voices of the youth. Confirmation classes will take the form of the Lutheranism 101 forums from the fall. So if you liked those forums, you'll like these classes! Confirmation classes will gather on January 10th and 24th, and February 7th this season. Our first series of topics will be on the Apostles Creed. If you are interested in entering the Confirmation program, or learning more about it, please contact Pastor Bergen Eickhoff at bergen@gsolympia.org.

Faith In Action: 5:45-7 pm

Starting Jan. 10. Faith In Action is a more learning and activity-based program for children. Using lessons from Illustrated Ministry and other progressive faith curriculums, Faith In Action engages kids in asking deep questions about faith and scripture through art, games, and other creative activities. It also includes an exploration of how our faith in God calls us to practice justice in the world.

Good Shepherd Choir: 7-8:30 pm

This vital ministry that provides opportunities to build relationships, contribute to the worship experience for all congregants, as well as develop a deepening of our own faith. It does not matter whether you have a trained voice, have previously only sung in the shower, or just want to come fi nd out what the choir is about. Everyone is welcome to join. If you are interested in joining the Good Shepherd Choir, please contact Good Shepherd's Director of Music Ministry, Nickolas Carlson at nickolas@gsolympia.org.
