News From the Piece Corp

The Piece Corp has been an organization of Good Shepherd for over 40 years, making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. The quilting group meets every Wednesday in Crary Hall at 9 am. We also host a monthly birthday/anniversary potluck on the first Wednesday of each month at noon, and everyone is invited to attend.

Twice a year Piece Corp ships quilts to Lutheran World Relief. In preparation for sending quilts in November, Piece Corp could use help tying quilts. No quilting or sewing skills or experience needed. Before October 25, join in tying up the loose ends of this shipment of quilts during the weekly quilting gathering, Wednesdays at 9:00 am.

As you are doing your Spring cleaning, please keep Piece Corp in mind.  We are in need of used sheets, mattress protectors, and non-working electric blankets.  We are also looking for fabric, little or big pieces for the tops and/or bottoms of the quilts.  Believe it or not, Piece Corp has been using up a lot of the material of the past and our supply is dwindling.

Garage and estate sales are a great place to bargain hunt.  Many times, quilters have more material than they have the time to make the quilt.  Their ideas get ahead of the finished product.  If you have a question about the type of material to donate, Piece Corp can usually find a place for it.  We appreciate your donations.
